Editing

Editing raises tension because in the process you combine music, visual and message to touch the hearts of the audience.

For my film, I used Audacity. http://www.audacityteam.org

I also used my iphone.

Social Media

We normally use social media as a way of promoting our film. This is because there is a wide range of people who use social media and they have easy access to it.  They also promote between them and act as today's 'word of mouth' which has always been the most effected method of promotion.

Representation and Mise-en-scene

Gender: In my film, there is a boy and a girl. The boy is a vampire and the girl is a human. This is because you would associate a horror film with a vampire guy and a human girl - this is stereotypical of all horror/supernatural movies.

Age: Both my actors are teenagers (17) as this will hopefully get my target audience more interested which are teenagers. Naturally films like this have teenagers playing the characters.

Mise-En-Scene: Mise en scène encompasses the most recognizable attributes of a film – the setting and the actors; it includes costumes and make-up, props, and all the other natural and artificial details that characterize the spaces filmed.   For my film, i've made sure that the vampire is dressed in a t-shirt, jeans and a coat - this is how the vampires dress in Twilight and The Vampire Diaries. I've also made sure that the girl has blonde hair (wig) - even though the main girl character in The Vampire Diaries has brown hair, there is another 'main character' who has blonde hair, my film sort of goes against the stereotype of this because the main girl characters in The Vampire Diaries and Twilight both have brown hair.

As for the location I want it to be a natural location with natural light. Although vampires could be filmed anywhere I felt that outdoors in the open and in the woods would feel good. Viewers can relate to horror movies in the woods.

Copyright

Copyright
Copyright is the mechanism used to protect an individuals or organisation’s material, identity or “inventions” from being copied and exploited by others.
Copyright is necessary because much time and effort can be expended in the development of a process, or a product and it is reasonable to allow the inventor time and a period of protection to recoup the cost for their time and the development costs.
Copyright is also very important in protecting an image or “brand”. In the case of a company selling goods, this image can be an indication of quality and value. Any copying of products, or infringing on copyright has the ability to inflict severely damage on the originators image with subsequent loss of trade.
Copyright is often “intellectual” property, ideas or designs as well as patents (“registered designs”) and logos and trademarks.
Copyright protection is provided in law. In the UK, this is provided by the Copyright, Design and Patents Act, 1988.

Source for this and other information on Copyright can be found at:

Target Audience

My target audience is people who like sci-fi and vampire movies.

Teen-Horror is usually a sub-genre of horror revolving around teenagers. The films are often about typical teen issues which are turned into horror and suspense.
My film is aimed at this audience because of its typical teen content and the age of the actors. Often horror movies are unsettling because they target the audience with the arrival of an evil force, person or event. Frequently this will include ghosts, werewolves, zombies and vampires. Teenagers often enjoy these films which incorporate violence.

This is my survey:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Q2Q3HFF

These are the results from my survey:

As you can see from these results that 50% is female and 50% is male, 50% are 18-24 year olds and 50% are 45-54 year olds. 100% of the people who answered the survey liked Sci-Fi movies.

Looking at https://yougov.co.uk/profileslite#/  I searched for people who are likely to watch this film are people who watch Buffy, The Vampire Diaries and Twilight.

Here are the results:

The Vampire Diaries

This is showing that girls aged between 18-24 who live in the North West are likely to watch The Vampire Diaries.

Their favourite sports are likely to be ski jumping and their most likely pet is a cat.

They are most likely to be bigheaded but sometimes quiet.

They are likely to be a customer of Primark, shop at New Look and have an Peugeot as a car.

This shows what their favourite shows are, favourite music and favourite celebrities.

This shows how much they are online for, how many hours they watch TV and what newspaper & magazine they read.

Twilight

This is showing that girls aged between 25-39 who live in the North West are likely to watch Twilight.

Their favourite sports are likely to be athletics and their most likely pet is a cat.

They are most likely to be knowledgeable but sometimes nervous.

They are likely to be a customer of E4 and shop at New Look.

This shows what their favourite shows are, favourite music and favourite celebrities.

This shows how much they are online for, how many hours they watch TV and what newspaper & magazine they read.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

This is showing that girls aged between 25-39 who live in North Scotland are likely to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Their favourite sports are likely to be motorsports and their most likely pet is a cat.

They are most likely to be knowledgeable but sometimes lazy.

They are likely to be a customer of Nintendo and shop at Converse.

This shows what their favourite shows are, favourite music and favourite celebrities.

This shows how much they are online for, how many hours they watch TV and what newspaper & magazine they read.

This is bit of a general over view but I would expect girls from the age of 14 to 25 to be attracted to the themes of the trailer.

Evaluation Q5

The opening sequence of "Hidden Fangs" will appeal to teens. The background music used makes the audience curious and it is relevant to my target audience.  I also place my final product on social media as this is where my target audience spend over 40 hours per week online.
